                      Thanks to the generosity of a NAVA and Arts Qld Travel Bursary last weekend I was able to attend Future/Forward at Carriageworks, Sydney. This is the first National Visual Arts Summit to be held in Australia. With over 40 speakers, including artists, curators, writers, academics, journalists and thought leaders from legal, media and ethics backgrounds the idea was to generate ongoing debates of the future of the Australian visual arts sector. Shortlisted for the Eutick Memorial Still Life Awards 2014

‘I guess I’ll never be satisfied because there are always more out there’ Kingfisher and Fish Knife 92 x 92 cm  has been selected to hang in this years EMSLA at the Coffs Harbour Regional Art Gallery. This will be the 7th consecutive year my work has been selected to hang in this national prize. Judged by John McDonald, art critic.

                  This is my 13th solo show and will be opened on the 8th August at Tweed Regional Gallery by Tracy Cooper – Lavery, Director of  Rockhampton Art Gallery. Stu Larsen in the studio

A month ago I had the wonderful opportunity to have musician Stu Larsen come to the studio for a few days and sit for me. Stu travels the world playing his music and had just come back to Australia briefly after several years touring with Passenger. Recovery opens in Brisbane

Recovery was shown in Rockhampton Art Gallery in August and the opening, artist talk and full day workshop were well received. This weekend saw the beautiful Vera Wade Gallery space in the ground floor of St Andrews Uniting Church, Cnr Ann Street and Creek Streets host to the opening of the Brisbane leg of the 2013 tour of Recovery – The Flood Objects Project.
